About us
Centralized & Accessible
The Gender Diverse Lives Project looks to provide centralized resources and information rooted in advocacy, support and belonging for gender diverse communities with the hopes of making the journey toward affirming one’s gender identity a little bit easier.
Our goal is to not only create resources but partner with gender diverse serving entities to take resource accessibility to a new level. This will allow the public to access a wide variety of information in one location and increase the number of people connecting with organizations, health clinics, businesses and more that have been doing the work our communities need.
Volunteer Run
This project is run by a single individual. This means our content might be produced at a slower rate. We thank you for your patience and support as we work to build a better future for gender diverse communities.
We would like to thank We, The World and their volunteers for their previous assistance and support in getting this project started.
why are we doing this?
In 2023 there were between 500 and 600 anti-LGBTQ+ bills considered across almost every state in the nation.
From 2019-2023, 2,116 reported gender diverse deaths occurred around the world. This includes 1,642 violent deaths and 274 suicides. Based on the 2023 data, there was a 62.7% increase in reported deaths in comparison to 2013.
In 2023, data showed that between 48%-56% of transgender and nonbinary youth seriously considered committing suicide. 33% of all LGBTQ+ youth noted that recent politics have adversely affected their mental health.
